Internship and Training Program
Thanks to the democratization of technology, students in Hawai‘i now have access to multimedia production tools previously unavailable due to high costs. There are now many computer artists, engineers and visionaries in Hawai‘i with a high level of proficiency in software development and computer animation. Unfortunately, to find work, most of them must move to the “mainland”. To this aim, we have created an artist training program. Our mission is to develop local talent by making this program available to talented students, interns, and underutilized local artists on. By working side by side with trained professionals in a hands on environment, artist young and old will benefit greatly by gaining production experience.
Programs like this also help to create opportunities for local talent. Training local artists in this field would address, amongst other things, two main issues:
1) the lack of a local pool of professional animators/designers/artists and
2) lack of access to this medium by local talent.
For each production we work on, we are committed to bring opportunities to students, and local talent. Additionally participants in the Ka Ho’okāhua program will also receive their first professional screen credit which will help them lay the foundation for their future endeavors.
